Beautiful Stranger

For the past two days I have been feeling quite Nostalgic. I spent my entire day off listening to old Madonna songs from the 90's such as Lucky Star, Papa Don't preach, Secret (which I had a repeat, literally), Get Into The Groove and many other Madonna tracks from the past as well. The 80's and 90's have always been dear to me! The 80's to me was about creative freedom, Shoulder Pads, and Vinyl anything! And when it comes to the 90's all I can think about is Plaid, Nirvana, Savage Garden, and one hit wonders. I really wanna to go back to my youth and relive as much as I can. I mean, who wouldn't want to do that? Fashion always derives from the past and it always will. Each designer is constantly trying to renew a past trend such as platform Jelly shoes, or 1950's silhouettes like at Louis Vuitton! And I have to admit, I love it a LITTLE TOO MUCH..Well no not really!! Yes fashion should be innovative but the past is something we can all relate too! The pictures below are from Mirage Magazine, which is magazine geared towards the 1970's and jet set Hedonism. Every time I flip through Mirage Magazine I'm taken back to when my mom sported an Afro and Bell Bottoms with platform shoes. Which always brings a smile to my face. I will always love a great BLAST FROM THE PAST! Wouldn't You?

  2. Hey Jenae!

I feel you on this one! I'm a 70's baby and I miss the little bit of seventies I can remember and of course the 80's, oh how i miss the 80's. Girl, I loved me some Madonna! I remember dancing to Lucky Star when she first came out. I've always loved her style and her creativity. I was obsessed with her. I remember "Watching Desperately Seeking Susan" I thought she was gorgeous in that movie. I remember being in love with that pyramid jacket and those amazing gold earrings. If you've seen the movie you'll know what I'm talking about.

I was just listening to her "Take a Bow" song and "It's Human Nature" Love that Human Nature video with her corn rolls. The girls music still rocks today.

That's why you have so much style because you appreciate the looks from the past. That's why I love your picture with the highwaist jeans. So cute! Have you ever seen the old Jordache adds? Especially the one with Brook Shields. I miss the Jeans with the leg warmers and pumps, and let's not forget the sexy headband that went across the forehead.

The eighties look I still rock is the Shirt dress with the belt. This will never go out with me. Also the one shoulder shirt. You know like you did with your 99 cent store shirt. I still cut my shirts to expose that one shoulder. The blazer, love the blazer. I could go on and on. Then you brought me back when you mentioned the Jelly shoes. Oh how I miss those.

Love the roller skate image. Now all I need is some Now or Later candy. Sorry so long, probably went off the subject some. I hope you had a wonderful day and I truly appreciate your comments today. You a sweetie pie! Talk soon! :)

    God Bless,
    Charmaine
